The music collection of the Mariastein Benedictine Monastery includes the following categories:

•    Music archive (music manuscripts and printed music up to ca. 1850)
•    Music library (printed music from ca. 1850 to today)
These two categories represent the musical life of the Mariastein Monastery from the 17th century to the present. More Informationens.


The music collection was reorganised and developed in a project that lasted several years. The reorganisation was made possible thanks to a large number of patrons, as well as the support of

The music collection database can be used onsite by advance reservation. Reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance.

Users are requested to indicate their requests when making their reservations. Database.

Cost per copy: CHF 1.50 (excluding VAT); Delivery fee CHF 6.00; The Monastery also charges an invoicing fee of CHF 20.00.
