How to find us
By car:
Via the A3 motorway from all directions: at the Delémont junction, take the Aesch exit. Mariastein is signposted from Aesch onwards. From Basel-Stadt (not via the motorway): head towards the zoo – Binningen – Bottmingen – Oberwil. Mariastein is signposted from Oberwil onwards.
There is a large free car park at the entrance to Mariastein. There are chargeable parking spaces available on the Klosterplatz, in the immediate vicinity of the Basilica.
By public transportation
a) Arrival at the Swiss railroad station SBB in Basel: Tram line no. 10 from Bahnhofplatz to Flüh (journey time approx. 35 min.) Only use trains marked Flüh or Rodersdorf.
b) Arrival at Badischer Bahnhof (DB) in Basel: Take streetcar no. 6 from Bahnhofplatz to the Theater or Heuwaage stop. Change there to streetcar no. 10, as indicated above.
From Flüh, the Postbus line 69 goes to Metzerlen via Mariastein, or you can reach the pilgrimage site after a half-hour walk (look out for the yellow hiking signs at the tram stop).
