How to find us

By car:

Motorway A3 from all directions:

• Delémont junction.
• Exit Aesch.
• Mariastein is signposted from Aesch onwards.

From Basel-Stadt (not highway):

• Direction Zoo – Binningen – Bottmingen – Oberwil. From Oberwil, Mariastein is signposted.

Parking

• At the entrance to Mariastein there is a new pilgrims’ parking lot (subject to a charge).

• No need to go to the cash desk! Thanks to the QR code, you can pay your parking fee conveniently with your smartphone! (Info sheet DE)

• Charging station for electric cars.

• Free disabled parking spaces are available on the monastery square in the immediate vicinity of the basilica.

By public transportation

Arrival at the Swiss railroad station SBB Basel:

• >Streetcar line no. 10 from Bahnhofplatz to Flüh (journey time approx. 35 min.)
  – Only use streetcars marked Flüh or Rodersdorf.

Arrival Badischer Bahnhof (DB) in Basel:

• From Bahnhofplatz take tram no. 6 to the stop Theater or Heuwaage.
• Change there to streetcar no. 10, from Bahnhofplatz to Flüh (journey time approx. 35 min.) -> Only use streetcars marked Flüh or Rodersdorf.

From Flüh

• Postbus route 69 to Metzerlen via Mariastein.

• Or: approx. half an hour’s walk (follow the yellow hiking signs at the tram stop).
