FEAST OF MARY, MOTHER OF CONSOLATION

Saturday, July 5, 2025

“God comforts us in all our affliction, that we also may have strength to comfort all who are in need, through the comfort with which we also are comforted by God.” (2 Cor 1:4)

The pilgrimage festival “Mary, Mother of Consolation” was set for the first Sunday in July to commemorate the coronation of the image and the elevation of the church to basilica status in 1926. Since 1937, the Saturday before the 1st Sunday in July has been the actual day of pilgrimage.

The heart and destination of the Mariastein pilgrimage and the Maria Trostfest is the Chapel of Grace. Read more…
