Lectio divina

What is a lectio divina?

Our common Lectio divina has four steps: reading – reflection – silence – prayer. It is a method of being touched and gifted by a biblical text, of reading the Bible with heart and mind. It begins with listening to God’s word (reading). Then comes contemplation of the text (reflection). The next step is to reflect (silence) on what this text does to me personally, which is then concluded in words from me to God (praying).

Preparation for Sunday

Our Lectio divina is a preparation for Sunday, in which we read and contemplate together a biblical text provided by the Church for the Sunday liturgy: Either the text from the Old Testament, the text from an apostle’s letter or a sequence from the Gospel.
